Hello, I’m Libby, a watercolour artist based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia.

My work is inspired by landscapes, native flora, and the experience of being in a place—walking, looking, remembering, and noticing the small details.

Here I’ll share new paintings and the stories behind them, things I’m learning with watercolour, studio notes, and news of projects, exhibitions and workshops.

Libby Derham

I’m Libby Derham, an award-winning, fourth-generation watercolourist based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Working in watercolour and ink, I create expressive landscape and floral paintings shaped by the sensory experience of being in a place. I often translate birdsong into line. I also teach watercolour through workshops at my home studio and in other settings.
