Watercolour, Plein Air and Mixed Media Workshops
Libby runs a range of workshops, ranging from one-on-one, to private and public small group workshops (maximum of 10) at her studio in Coolum. She also runs en plein air workshops throughout the Sunshine Coast and has run workshops around the state.
Libby’s long experience in arts education has provided a solid foundation to support students of all ages and abilities, she teaches workshops and classes at her studio in Coolum along with facilitating workshops in partnerships with organisations such as Flying Arts. Her lifetime of watercolour painting stemming from 4 generations of family knowledge gives her specialised knowledge in this medium.

Come and explore the beautiful medium of watercolour and create luscious washes and magical mixes. Understand about the different papers, types of paints, mark making and so much more in this whole day workshop with local, award winning artist Libby Derham.Come away with a collection of techniques ready to use at home. The workshop concludes with an introductory abstract piece of art, bringing together several techniques learnt during the day. Aimed at the beginner level, this workshop will provide you with the skills to get you started.

Sunday May 29th Workshop - The Next Step: Intermediate Watercolour Workshop

Have you just begun on your watercolour journey or dabbled just a little? Come and learn more about finding your balance between tightness and looseness and techniques in saturation, water control, layering and so much more. Guided by local, award-winning artist Libby Derham, enjoy the finest artist quality paints - Daniel Smith Watercolours for the day and explore painting onto different papers. This workshop will provide opportunities to explore controlled watercolour versus loose, abstract and flowing watercolour. Ideal for those with some experience in watercolour, especially those that have completed Libby's 'Introduction to Watercolour' workshops and would like to extend their skills. New to watercolour? Look out for Libby's one-day Introduction workshops.
